Presenter:
Allison Bailey has always enjoyed wandering around in swamps and on the beach. Naturally, she gravitated towards a career in marine science where she could scuba dive in kelp beds and drive a motorboat along the shores Puget Sound. Once she discovered tools such as GPS, GIS, and remote-sensing, her days in the field were numbered.  She particularly enjoys collaborating with scientists and resource managers to harness appropriate technology for the study and protection of marine and coastal ecosystems.  In the past, Allison worked as a marine scientist and GIS specialist for state and federal government.  She currently runs her own business, Sound GIS, (www.soundgis.com).
