Our BOATS project got underway at Catalina Harbor this summer – a series of in-the-water trials supporting Ocean Lab’s development of swarm autopilot technology. Experiments used fleets of 20 to 30 semi-autonomous model boats modified to test and develop swarming and control algorithms. Special thanks to Catalina Conservancy’s Rose Ellen Gardner Interns who were our “swarm chasers”.
