[Working Groups] Outreach Call Dec. 17, 2014

The Outreach Working Group met on Wednesday to identify workplan tasks that emerged at the Network meeting, finalize the Data Viewer launch announcement, discuss messaging for the Ocean Summit, and identify outreach opportunities within the marine debris community. [News and Events] WCGA Launches New Tools to Help Coastal Managers and Stakeholders Understand and Plan for Impacts of Marine Debris

The West Coast Governors Alliance on Ocean Health is pleased to announce new data and tools available via the West Coast Ocean Data Portal to assist coastal managers and stakeholders to view and explore geospatial data about marine debris cleanup and prevention efforts in our region’s coastal waterways. [WCODP ACT] Monthly Call – Sept. 2, 2014

The ACT covered a lot of ground and highlighted a number of areas where we can use feedback on the data viewer, network meeting, and technical assistance project. The group will be reviewing aspects of the data viewer including planned integration with the WCODP, data layers and themes, and performance. The ACT is also gearing up for the Network meeting Nov. 3-4, 2014 and soliciting interest in providing partner updates and training sessions. [Working Groups] Data Call – Aug. 28, 2014

The Data Working group met to discuss the launch of the data visualization tool. Working group members discussed ways to provide feedback on the data layers and organization with in the viewer. They will be exploring and testing the tool over the next week as the development team gathers information and feedback for the last round of improvements. You can read call notes here.
